Your money is insured and protected

All deposits and trades on Bumper are overseen by Alpaca Securities, a brokerage firm regulated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Alpaca is a member of the SIPC, which means your money is insured up to $500,000. The SIPC (Securities Investor Protection Corporation) protects investors against the loss of cash and securities in the rare event their financial firm fails.

If Alpaca ever fails, the SIPC will reimburse you up to $500,000 (with $250,000 protection for cash).

This means your money is protected, no matter what.

How is my information secured?

Bumper uses bank-grade security and data encryption to protect your information. We use the strongest browser encryption (256-bit) and use HTTPS and Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol to encrypt your information in transit.

All servers are monitored 24/7 for any suspicious activity and vulnerability inspections are run regularly.

Your information is never sold to any third-parties and is only used for the purpose of opening your account. Bumper does not store any of your sensitive information, including your address, date of birth, and social security number.

How is Bumper safe for teens?

As a sponsor, you have access to several safety guardrails designed to protect your teen investors. You have constant oversight over your teen's investing portfolio. You can see which investments they have made and how they are performing.

Additionally, you can approve or deny every individual trade your teen makes. Bumper will notify you whenever a particular stock is marked as volatile, so you can stay in the know on your teen's trading decisions.

As a sponsor, you also have full control over deposits and withdrawals. Your teen can't move money into or out of the account without your approval.
